September . This role is temporary/permanent/temp-to-perm .

You'll be joining a supportive, specialist setting dedicated to helping young people with a range of additional needs, including Autism, SEMH, Moderate Learning Difficulties and communication needs. The school is committed to inclusion and individualised learning , ensuring every student is supported to reach their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment.

You'll be joining a caring, experienced team that places wellbeing, inclusion and student progress at the heart of everything they do.

Your main responsibilities will include

  • Supporting students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, responding to their individual SEND needs.
  • Helping to deliver personalised learning activities and interventions to support academic, social and emotional development.
  • Working alongside teachers and other professionals to adapt lessons and resources to meet a range of learning needs.
  • Promoting a calm, accepting and inclusive learning environment where every student feels safe, valued and encouraged to achieve their goals.
  • Supporting students with emotional regulation, communication and positive behaviour strategies where required.

Requirements or Skills

  • Recent experience working in a school, SEND setting or education environment is desirable
  • Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs such as Autism, SEMH, ADHD or learning difficulties is desirable.
  • Solid numeracy and literacy skills.
  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education, health and social care or similar β€” or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Comfortable taking direction from teaching staff and working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A patient, resilient and empathetic approach to supporting young people with diverse learning needs.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
