Milk Education is working with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Newcastle to recruit a Learning Support Assistant for a full-time position starting in September 2026. This is a varied classroom-based role supporting pupils across the school and working alongside teachers to ensure children receive the support they need to succeed.
The Role
- Support pupils during lessons and independent learning activities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required
- Reinforce learning in literacy, numeracy and other curriculum areas
- Assist teachers with classroom activities and preparation
- Encourage positive behaviour and active participation
- Help pupils develop confidence and independence
- Support children with a range of abilities and learning needs
About You
- Previous experience working with children is desirable
- Experience in a school, nursery, childcare or youth setting would be beneficial
- Reliable, enthusiastic and adaptable
- Able to build positive relationships with children
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Committed to creating a positive learning environment
