We are recruiting for an SEN Learning Support Assistant in Middleton to support a secondary school on either a full-time or part-time basis. This opportunity is ideal for aspiring teachers, psychology graduates, youth workers, support workers, or anyone with a genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

About the Role

As an SEN Learning Support Assistant in Middleton, you'll provide tailored support to students on a 1:1 basis, in small groups, and within the classroom. You'll work alongside teachers, SEND teams, and pastoral staff to help students develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

Your role may include:

  • Supporting students across KS3 and KS4 with a range of additional needs
  • Working with pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties
  • Delivering intervention sessions and supporting personalised learning plans
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence, and engagement
  • Building positive relationships with students, staff, and parents where appropriate

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable but not essential
  • Based in or commutable to Middleton
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A proactive and positive attitude with a genuine passion for inclusive education
