Role
As a CNC Turner - Setter/Operator, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC lathes to manufacture components to customer specifications while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting and operating CNC turning machines.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Selecting and fitting tooling.
- Setting machine offsets and making adjustments during production.
- Producing first-off components for inspection.
- Carrying out in-process quality checks using precision measuring equipment.
- Ensuring components are manufactured to specification and within tolerance.
- Monitoring tooling and machine performance.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Working to production schedules and quality standards.
- Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience as a CNC Turner Setter/Operator.
- Confident setting CNC lathes independently.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience using micrometers, verniers and other inspection equipment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Reliable with a positive attitude and excellent work ethic.
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Experience with Fanuc controls.
- Engineering apprenticeship or recognised machining qualification.
