Milk Education are working in partnership with a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Haringey to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with a range of additional learning needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers, the SEND team and pastoral staff to provide targeted support for students with a variety of needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and moderate learning difficulties. The school prides itself on fostering a culture of respect, resilience and inclusion, ensuring that every student feels valued and supported throughout their educational journey.
The Role:
- Providing classroom support for students with Special Educational Needs
- Working as an SEN Teaching Assistant on a 1:1 and small-group basis
- Supporting students with their academic, social and emotional development
- Assisting teachers in delivering differentiated learning activities
- Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
- Supporting the implementation of EHCP targets and intervention programmes
- Building positive relationships with students, staff and families
- Encouraging independence, confidence and resilience
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Youth Worker or Support Worker
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, ASD, ADHD, SEMH or learning difficulties
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Patient, adaptable and resilient approach
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Passion for supporting young people to succeed
