Milk Education are currently recruiting for a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join a thriving secondary school in SE2 from September 2026 until July 2027 on a temporary agency contract. This role is a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking to gain valuable classroom experience within a secondary school setting. The successful Cover Supervisor will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects and year groups, ensuring students remain engaged and on task in the absence of their regular teacher.

Located in the Abbey Wood area, the school benefits from excellent transport links, including the Elizabeth Line, making it easily accessible from across South East London and Kent. Key Responsibilities
  • Supervising classes across a variety of subjects and year groups in the absence of the class teacher
  • Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials and ensuring learning objectives are met
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Maintaining a positive and productive learning environment
  • Supporting students with their learning and encouraging engagement during lessons
  • Liaising with teaching staff regarding lesson outcomes and student progress

The Ideal Candidate Will
  • Have previous experience working with young people in an educational, coaching, mentoring, or youth work setting
  • Be confident managing groups of students across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Have strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Be adaptable, organised, and able to work across multiple subject areas
  • Be committed to supporting students to achieve their full potential
  • Be considering a future career in teaching or education (desirable)
