1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant - Merton
Milk Education are working with an inclusive primary school in Merton who are seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant to support a pupil from September.
This is a rewarding classroom-based role for someone who is patient, consistent and passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.
The Role
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
- Help the pupil access lessons and classroom activities.
- Support communication, engagement and social development.
- Reinforce strategies provided by the class teacher and SENDCo.
- Encourage independence and confidence.
- Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Adapt classroom activities and resources where required.
- Build a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil.
About You
- Previous experience working with children is desirable.
- SEN experience would be advantageous.
- Patient, calm and compassionate approach.
- Confident supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis.
- Strong communication skills.
- Reliable, consistent and proactive.
- Passionate about inclusive education.
