Behaviour Specialist

A dynamic SEMH setting in South Liverpoolis seeking a Behaviour Specialist to supportpupils with complex behavioural needs. This full-time role demands resilience, initiative, and a deep commitment to helping young people re-engage with learning.

You’ll be joining an inclusive/modern/supportive school, focused on inclusion, wellbeing and community.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs, trauma, and challenging behaviours
  • Leading de-escalation, regulation, and restorative strategies
  • Working closely with teaching staff to create a safe, structured environment
  • Building trust and consistency through clear boundaries and positive relationships

Requirements or Skills:

  • Experience in PRUs, SEMH schools, or youth work settings
  • Confidence managing behaviour and promoting emotional regulation
  • A proactive, solution-focused mindset and strong team ethic
  • Ability to stay calm, consistent, and compassionate in high-pressure situations
