Year 6 Teaching Assistant – Leigh
Milk Education is partnering with a well‑regarded primary school in Leigh (WN7) to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Year 6 Teaching Assistant for a full‑time, long‑term role starting in September 2026.
This role will be a temporary position until December 2026, with a view to transitioning to a permanent role.
This Year 6 Teaching Assistant position involves working one‑to‑one with a Year 6 child who has Autism and Complex Needs. The ideal candidate will be patient, nurturing, and highly adaptable to the individual learning needs of the child. You will play a key role in supporting the pupil's educational and emotional development within a structured and caring environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one support for a Year 6 pupil with Autism and Complex Needs
- Keep the child engaged and on task throughout the school day
- Prepare daily resources and support learning activities
- Foster a positive, nurturing learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff
Requirements
- Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly Autism and Complex Needs
- Patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to supporting the child's academic and emotional development
