The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse / Stores Operative to join an established engineering and manufacturing business based in Leeds.

This is a varied, hands-on position combining warehouse, stores and FLT duties. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring parts, equipment and materials are received, stored, recorded and distributed efficiently across the business.

We are looking for someone who is hardworking, reliable and organised, with a practical approach and the ability to think on their feet in a busy working environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Organising and maintaining the warehouse and stores areas

  • Receiving deliveries and managing goods-in / goods-out

  • Loading and unloading deliveries using an FLT

  • Booking parts and materials in and out of the internal system

  • Carrying out stock control, stock checks and inventory duties

  • Using SAP or similar ERP/WMS systems

  • Ensuring warehouse and stock records are kept accurate and up to date

  • Supporting the wider stores and engineering teams with parts and equipment

  • Using handling and lifting equipment including jigs, hoists and rigs

  • Moving equipment and materials safely around the facility

  • Completing relevant warehouse and stores paperwork

  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment

  • Following all company Health & Safety procedures when working around machinery and equipment


The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone with:

  • Previous experience within a warehouse, stores or engineering environment

  • Previous FLT driving experience

  • Experience with goods-in and goods-out

  • Good stock control and inventory experience

  • Experience using SAP or a similar stock/ERP system

  • Confidence working with machinery, lifting and handling equipment

  • Good attention to detail when completing paperwork and updating systems

  • A hands-on and practical approach to work

  • Strong organisational skills

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • A reliable, hardworking attitude with the ability to problem-solve when required
