A supportive and inclusive primary school in East Leeds is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team, working within their resource provision. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with other staff members within the RI, to successfully support the needs of the students, which range from complex needs to social, emotional and mental health difficulties.

The school is looking for a proactive and patient SEN Teaching Assistant who can build strong relationships with students, staff and parents while promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN/SEMH
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
  • Support students on a one‑to‑one basis and within small groups
  • Passionate about inclusion and student wellbeing
  • Ability to adapt and amend learning activities to fit the needs within the provision
  • Additional CPD or qualifications such as Team Teach, Trauma Informed Practice, Makaton would be advantageous
