Milk Education are working with primary schools across West Yorkshire who are seeking full-time SEND Teaching Assistants to work 1-2-1 with children with autism/ADHD and learning needs. Schools look for individuals who are patient, nurturing, and accommodating to the children's learning needs. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, the role will involve keeping the child on task and ensuring that the work they are doing is being done to a good standard. You will be responsible for getting resources ready for the day and ensuring the child's needs are being met. In a SEND Teaching Assistant role, you will provide a patient and nurturing learning environment for the child.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Promote inclusion and acceptance of all children
  • Support children consistently whilst responding to their individual needs
  • Work with the teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/plans as appropriate
  • Deliver catch-up sessions

Requirements or Skills:

  • Must have recent/relevant experience working with children and young people, within the past two years
  • Must have a passion for education
  • Must possess good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Must have the ability to work under the guidance of the teacher
  • Must be reliable and punctual
  • MUST have Level 3 qualification
