We're currently recruiting for a KS1 Inclusion Support Worker to join a welcoming primary school in Leeds on a long- or short-term basis. Your Main Responsibilities
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support to KS1 pupils, responding to their individual learning and wellbeing needs
- Supporting pupils who may require additional help with their learning, communication, behaviour or emotional regulation
- Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team to adapt activities and resources
- Helping pupils access the curriculum and develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours
- Supporting phonics, reading, writing and numeracy activities
- Helping deliver targeted interventions and catch-up sessions to support pupils in closing learning gaps
- Promoting an accepting and inclusive classroom where every child feels safe, valued and that they belong
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils and providing consistent encouragement
- Supporting the classroom teacher with general classroom and pastoral duties where required
Requirements or Skills
- Recent experience working in a primary school, education or childcare setting
- Experience supporting children in KS1 is desirable
- A genuine passion for supporting children and helping them overcome barriers to learning
- Solid numeracy and literacy skills
- A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or a similar subject - or equivalent hands-on experience
- Understanding of inclusion and the individual needs of children
- Comfortable taking direction from the class teacher and working effectively as part of a team
- A patient, caring and proactive approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
