Milk Education is working with a number of welcoming and supportive Primary Schools across Hartlepool and the surrounding areas and is looking to recruit caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join schools from September 2026.

We have a range of long-term and full-time opportunities available, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
You'll play a key role in supporting pupils within the classroom, helping them access learning, develop confidence and independence, and overcome barriers to their education.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils.
- Support pupils to access the curriculum and engage with learning.
- Work alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging learning activities.
- Support pupils with SEND and additional learning needs.
- Assist with targeted interventions and additional learning activities.
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil engagement.
- Support pupils' social, emotional, and communication development.
- Help pupils develop confidence, independence, and resilience.
- Build positive relationships with pupils and school staff.
- Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, teachers, and the wider school team.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding and professional practice.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
- Experience within a school, education, care, youth work, or support setting is advantageous.
- A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, caring, and adaptable approach.
- Confident supporting pupils on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children.
- Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
