Milk Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Barnet to recruit a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a caring and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant who is passionate about helping children develop confidence, independence and a love for learning. The successful Learning Support Assistant will work closely with class teachers and the SEND team to provide tailored support for pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, supporting their individual needs and helping them make progress both academically and socially.
The Role:
- Supporting pupils across the primary age range within the classroom
- Working as a Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 and small-group support
- Assisting children with additional learning needs, including SEND, ASD, ADHD and SEMH needs
- Helping pupils access lessons through adapted resources and targeted support
- Supporting literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum activities
- Encouraging confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours
- Assisting teachers with classroom organisation and preparation of resources
- Supporting children's social and emotional development throughout the school day
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Nursery Practitioner or Childcare Worker
- Experience working with children in a school, nursery, care or community setting
- Patient, nurturing and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, staff and families
- Passion for supporting children to overcome barriers
