We're currently recruiting for a KS1 Teacher to join a welcoming Primary School in Derby on a long-term basis starting in September. You'll be joining a supportive and inclusive school that places high expectations, creativity and pupil wellbeing at the centre of its approach. This is a great opportunity for an experienced teacher or ECT looking to build strong relationships with pupils and become part of a positive school community.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the KS1 curriculum
- Supporting pupils with reading, writing, phonics and mathematics
- Assessing pupil progress and adapting teaching to meet individual needs
- Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
- Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupil independence
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants and wider school staff
- Building positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
Requirements or Skills:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Recent primary teaching experience, ideally within KS1
- Strong knowledge of the KS1 National Curriculum
- Experience delivering phonics and early reading
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Passion for supporting children to achieve their full potential
