We're currently recruiting for a KS1 Teacher to join a welcoming Primary School in Derby on a long-term basis starting in September. You'll be joining a supportive and inclusive school that places high expectations, creativity and pupil wellbeing at the centre of its approach. This is a great opportunity for an experienced teacher or ECT looking to build strong relationships with pupils and become part of a positive school community.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the KS1 curriculum
  • Supporting pupils with reading, writing, phonics and mathematics
  • Assessing pupil progress and adapting teaching to meet individual needs
  • Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
  • Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupil independence
  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants and wider school staff
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues

Requirements or Skills:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Recent primary teaching experience, ideally within KS1
  • Strong knowledge of the KS1 National Curriculum
  • Experience delivering phonics and early reading
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Passion for supporting children to achieve their full potential
