Milk Education is partnering with a well-regarded primary school in Knowsley to recruit a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant for a full‑time, long‑term role starting immediately. This SEND Teaching Assistant position involves working across both KS1 and KS2, supporting SEND pupils with a variety of additional needs on a one‑to‑one basis. You will be given a timetable as to where you will be working in the morning and in the afternoon and this temporary position will start immediately and be until July 2026 – continuing into the new academic year.

The ideal candidate will be patient, nurturing, and highly adaptable to the individual learning needs of each child. You will play a key role in supporting the pupil's educational and emotional development within a structured and caring environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one‑to‑one support for KS1 and KS2 pupils with additional needs
  • Supporting children with ASD, ADHD and Complex Needs
  • Keep the child engaged and on task throughout the school day
  • Prepare daily resources and support learning activities
  • Foster a positive, nurturing learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff
Requirements
  • Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly Autism and Complex Needs
  • Patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to supporting the child's academic and emotional development
