Milk Education is recruiting caring and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistants to join SEN schools across Newark, working on a long-term or short-term basis, starting in September.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to reach their full potential in a nurturing and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs, helping them to engage in learning.
- Support pupils' emotional regulation and social development throughout the school day.
- Implement positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques to promote a calm environment.
- Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to track progress and reinforce consistency in support.
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to challenging situations.
- Ability to work effectively under the guidance of teachers and support teams.

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
