We're recruiting for a Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Durham from September. You'll work with pupils across Years 3-6, providing classroom support, encouraging independence and helping children make positive progress in their learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils one-to-one and in small groups with their learning
- Helping children develop their literacy, numeracy and communication skills
- Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and stay engaged in lessons
- Encouraging independence, confidence and positive behaviour
- Working closely with the class teacher to deliver activities and adapt resources
- Providing additional support for pupils with SEND or additional learning needs
- Building positive relationships with pupils and creating an inclusive classroom environment
- Supporting children during lessons, activities and other parts of the school day
What We're Looking For
- Level 2/3 qualification in education, childcare or a related subject (preferred)
- Experience working with children in a school, nursery or childcare setting
- A genuine passion for supporting children's education and development
- Strong communication, literacy and numeracy skills
- A patient, positive and approachable manner
- Ability to work effectively as part of a school team
- Confidence supporting pupils with a range of learning needs
