Milk Education is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Student Engagement Mentors to support pupils across Primary Schools in Sunderland and South Tyneside. As a Student Engagement Mentor, you will play a vital role in helping children actively participate in their learning, build positive relationships, and develop the confidence needed to succeed in school. You will work closely with pupils who may require additional support with engagement, motivation, attendance, behaviour, or emotional wellbeing. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a difference and have experience in education, youth work, coaching, mentoring, childcare, care, sports, or support work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils across the Primary age range
- Encouraging positive engagement in lessons and school activities
- Supporting pupils to build confidence, resilience, and self-esteem
- Helping children overcome barriers to learning and participation
- Promoting positive behaviour and strong classroom relationships
- Supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, and additional learning needs
- Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff to maximise pupil progress
We Are Looking For:
- Experience working with children or young people
- A positive, energetic, and proactive attitude
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to motivate and inspire young learners
- A genuine passion for supporting children's development and wellbeing
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
