Milk Education is recruiting an enthusiastic English Tutor to work within a specialist post-16 educational setting in Harrogate from September.

You will support learners with additional needs to develop their English skills, confidence and communication, helping them achieve personalised learning goals and recognised qualifications where appropriate.

This rewarding opportunity is ideal for qualified teachers, tutors or graduates with experience supporting learners with SEND.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Support learners working towards Functional Skills or GCSE English qualifications.
  • Differentiate learning to ensure all students can access the curriculum.
  • Develop learners' reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.
  • Work collaboratively with Learning Support Assistants and wider staff teams.
  • Monitor learner progress and contribute to individual learning plans.
  • Create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and communication skills.

About You

  • Experience teaching or tutoring English.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Level 5 Teaching qualification or relevant tutoring experience is desirable.
  • Passionate about supporting learners with SEND.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Patient, adaptable and positive approach.
  • Experience delivering Functional Skills or GCSE English is advantageous.
