Location: Guildford, Surrey Pay: Β£100-Β£115 per day Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term Start Date: September 2026
A welcoming SEND school in Guildford, Surrey is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with children and wants to support pupils both academically, socially, and emotionally.
The Role
- Support pupils during lessons and classroom activities.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to help reinforce learning.
- Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
- Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence, and resilience.
- Support pupils with additional learning needs, including SEND where required.
- Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and emotional wellbeing.
- Help pupils access the curriculum through tailored support and encouragement.
- Support pupils during wider school activities, routines, and transitions.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, ASD, or additional needs is beneficial.
- Patient, supportive, and approachable.
- Confident working with pupils of different abilities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Able to follow instructions while also using initiative.
- Reliable, enthusiastic, and committed.
- Passionate about supporting children's learning, development, and wellbeing.
