Graduate Classroom Supervisor (Primary School)

Location: Darlington

Working Hours: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Full-Time

Start Date: September 2026

We are recruiting for a Graduate Classroom Supervisor to work in a welcoming Primary School in the Darlington area on an ongoing basis throughout the academic year.

Are you considering a future career in primary teaching but looking to gain valuable classroom experience first? As a Classroom Supervisor, you will deliver pre-planned lessons and classroom activities in the absence of the class teacher, supporting pupils across the primary age range. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on classroom experience, build confidence, and develop your behaviour management skills before progressing into teacher training.

Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons and classroom activities in the absence of the class teacher
  • Create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment
  • Follow the school's safeguarding and behaviour policies
  • Support pupils' learning, wellbeing and positive behaviour
  • Provide feedback to the class teacher on pupil progress and engagement
  • No lesson planning or marking required

What We're Looking For

  • A graduate-level qualification
  • A genuine passion for education and supporting children
  • Confident, patient and adaptable with excellent communication skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
