KS1 Teacher - Ferryhill

Milk Education is working with a number of welcoming and supportive Primary Schools across Ferryhill and the surrounding areas and is looking to recruit passionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated KS1 Teachers to join schools from September 2026.

You’ll play a vital role in delivering engaging and creative lessons across Key Stage 1, supporting pupils through an important stage of their education and creating a positive classroom environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the KS1 and Primary curriculum.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress.
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils.
  • Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Develop children's reading, writing, phonics, and numeracy skills.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and colleagues.
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and the wider school team.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
  • Support pupils with additional learning needs.
  • Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching within KS1 is desirable.
  • ECTs are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and phonics.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Strong understanding of assessment and pupil progress.
  • Passion for delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and support young learners.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
