Whether you have studied Psychology, Education, Criminology, English, Maths, Science, Sport, or another degree, this opportunity will help you develop valuable skills and experience within a specialist education setting.
The Role
- As a Graduate Teaching Assistant in a SEN school, you will work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to provide support for pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEND and SEMH needs.
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Helping students access learning and develop confidence.
- Supporting children with additional learning needs.
- Assisting teachers with classroom activities and interventions.
- Building positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and independence.
- Providing emotional and pastoral support where required.
What We're Looking For
- A recent university graduate - all degree subjects considered.
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, positive, and adaptable approach.
- Previous experience working with children, young people, SEND, or care settings is beneficial but not essential.
- Based in or able to commute to Guildford and surrounding Surrey areas.
