Milk Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and ambitious primary school in Enfield to appoint a passionate Year 1 Teacher for a September start. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to join a supportive Key Stage 1 team and help pupils make a successful transition from the EYFS into more structured learning.
The successful Year 1 Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and creative lessons that foster a love of learning while ensuring pupils make strong progress across the Key Stage 1 curriculum. Particular emphasis will be placed on early reading, phonics, writing and numeracy, with the successful candidate helping pupils prepare for the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check.
The Role:
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the Key Stage 1 curriculum
- Working as a Year 1 Teacher to create a positive, nurturing and stimulating learning environment
- Delivering high-quality phonics teaching to support early reading development
- Assessing and monitoring pupil progress to inform future planning
- Differentiating learning to meet the needs of all pupils
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants, parents and carers to support achievement
- Contributing to the wider life of the school community
The Ideal Candidate:
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching within Key Stage 1 or Early Years
- Strong understanding of phonics and early literacy development
- Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families
- Passion for creating engaging learning experiences
- ECTs and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply
