Milk Education are working with a welcoming primary school in Killingworth who are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Education Support Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with children, building positive relationships and helping pupils get the most out of their time in school.

The Role

As an Education Support Assistant, you will work alongside the class teacher and wider school team to support pupils with their learning, development and day-to-day engagement in school. You could be supporting individuals, small groups or the wider class, depending on the needs of the school.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils with their learning and development
  • Providing one-to-one and small-group support
  • Assisting the class teacher with classroom activities
  • Supporting pupils with additional needs where required
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Creating a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment

We're Looking For

  • Experience working with children in a school, nursery or similar setting
  • A genuine passion for education and supporting young people
  • A patient, nurturing and positive approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Confidence supporting children with different needs and abilities
  • SEND experience is desirable but not essential
