Early Years Teaching Assistant - Stockton
Milk Education is working with a number of welcoming and supportive Primary Schools across Stockton and the surrounding areas, and with the new academic year now in full swing, demand for Early Years Teaching Assistants has never been higher. We're looking for caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistants to join our schools and support pupils across the 2026/27 academic year.
Whether you're an experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant, hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification, or have recent experience supporting children within an EYFS setting, we'd love to hear from you.
We have a range of long-term, full-time opportunities available, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting children's learning and development, helping to create a safe, nurturing and engaging environment where every child can thrive and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging EYFS learning activities.
- Encourage learning through play and exploration.
- Support children's communication, literacy, numeracy, and personal development.
- Observe and monitor children's progress.
- Promote positive behaviour and independence.
- Support children with SEND where required.
- Assist with personal care where necessary.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification is desirable.
- Experience within EYFS, Nursery, or Reception.
- Good understanding of the EYFS Framework.
- Caring and nurturing approach.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Passion for supporting children's early education.
- Completion of the required KCSIE safeguarding training/course, or willingness to complete this as part of the onboarding process.

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
