Milk Education is looking for a calm, patient and positive Behaviour & Wellbeing Support Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in
Durham
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who understands that behaviour is communication and wants to help children feel safe, understood and ready to learn
You’ll work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to support pupils who may need additional help with emotional regulation, behaviour, confidence and engagement
Whether you have experience in education, youth work, childcare, sports coaching, mentoring or community work, we’d love to hear from you!
- What You’ll Be Doing
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Helping children develop strategies to manage emotions and behaviour.
- Supporting pupils to re-engage with their learning.
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support where needed.
- Encouraging positive communication and conflict resolution.
- Promoting positive behaviour and celebrating progress.
- Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff.
- Helping create a calm, safe and inclusive school environment.
We’re Looking For Someone Who Is...
- Patient, calm and emotionally resilient
- Confident working with children who may display challenging behaviour.
- A strong communicator who can build relationships.
- Positive and consistent in their approach.
- Experienced in education, childcare, youth work, mentoring or similar — desirable but not essential
- A graduate, aspiring teacher or someone with volunteering/placement experience working with children.
- Passionate about helping young people reach their potential.
