Our client, a well-established precision engineering business based in Dudley, is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator to join their growing manufacturing team.

This position would suit an experienced CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator with strong knowledge of CNC machining and Fanuc-controlled machinery.

The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC machines to manufacture precision components in line with customer drawings, specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Programming CNC machinery to produce components to specification.
  • Setting and operating CNC machines with Fanuc controls.
  • Working in line with customer drawings, specifications and technical requirements.
  • Ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining high levels of quality, safety and efficiency.
  • Carrying out first-off and self-inspection to ensure components meet tight tolerances.
  • Proving out programmes at the machine and making adjustments where required.
  • Working with minimal supervision following training, demonstrating strong initiative and understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Reporting tooling requirements to the supervisor.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment at all times.
  • Supporting continuous improvement in quality, efficiency and machine performance.
  • Undertaking training and development programmes as required.
  • Taking a responsible approach to health, safety and environmental risks, reporting any concerns appropriately.
  • Carrying out any other duties commensurate with the role.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator is essential.
  • Strong experience setting and operating Star and/or Citizen sliding head CNC machines is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with Fanuc controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience working to tight tolerances within a precision engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and tooling.
  • Ability to carry out self‑inspection using precision measuring equipment.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Good understanding of health & safety within a manufacturing environment.
  • Commitment to quality, efficiency and continuous improvement.

Package Details

  • £19 per hour AM Shift / £20 per hour PM Shift
  • Shifts available - AM Shift 06:00-14:30 Monday to Friday / PM Shift 14:30-01:00
  • Overtime weekdays and Saturday / x2 Saturdays
  • 25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays
