You will be joining an inclusive, modern secondary school conveniently located for educators local to Congleton focused on diversity, tailored support, and raising student attainment across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a passionate team and make a genuine impact conveniently located for educators local to Congleton.

What You’ll Be Doing in the Role

  • Supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs on a 1:1 and small group basis across KS3 and KS4.
  • Assisting the classroom teacher with lesson planning, evaluating, and adapting resources to suit individual EHCP requirements.
  • Implementing effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies to foster a positive learning environment.
  • Promoting inclusion, independence, and emotional well-being for all students.

Essential Qualifications

  • Must have recent and relevant experience supporting young people with SEMH or SEND in an education or care setting.
  • Holds a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (CACHE, Childcare, Supporting Teaching & Learning) or equivalent experience.
  • Possesses good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Must have the ability to work confidently under the guidance of the classroom teacher and SENCO.
