Early Years Support Assistant

Milk Education is currently recruiting for an Early Years Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in North Durham.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and caring individual who enjoys working with young children and wants to make a positive difference to their early education. Early Years Support Assistant: Main Responsibilities

  • Supporting children with their learning, development and day-to-day needs within the Early Years setting
  • Encouraging independence and helping children develop their communication, social and self-management skills
  • Providing one-to-one and small-group support where required
  • Supporting children to engage positively and consistently in activities and learning
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with children, staff and families
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
  • Following school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and confidentiality requirements

Early Years Support Assistant: Requirements & Skills

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years, Childcare, Education or a related subject is preferred
  • Previous experience working with children in an Early Years, school, nursery or educational setting is desirable
  • A caring, patient and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A positive attitude and enthusiasm for supporting children's learning and development
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and the importance of creating a safe environment for children
