We are seeking a proactive and reliable Buildings Manager to join a welcoming secondary school in Sheffield from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced site, facilities, or premises professional to play a key role in ensuring the school environment remains safe, secure, and well-maintained for students, staff, and visitors.

As Buildings Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day management of the school's premises, ensuring the highest standards of health and safety, maintenance, security, and compliance are maintained across the site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and security of the school site.
  • Carry out routine inspections and coordinate repairs and maintenance works.
  • Manage site contractors and ensure all works are completed safely and effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and statutory requirements.
  • Support the management of site budgets and maintenance schedules.
  • Monitor and maintain school facilities, grounds, and equipment.
  • Assist with lettings, school events, and emergency call-outs where required.
  • Act as a key holder and support site security procedures.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Previous experience in a facilities, premises, site management, or buildings management role.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety regulations and building compliance requirements.
  • Strong practical maintenance and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive and professional approach to maintaining a safe learning environment.
  • Experience working within a school or educational setting is desirable but not essential.
