The Role of the Senior Structural Design Engineer:

  • Deliver high quality structural designs for steel frameworks and complex connections
  • Conduct manual and software-based calculations to British and Eurocode standards
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients throughout project lifecycles
  • Maintain effective client relationships to support repeat business and referrals
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members
  • Attend design meetings and contribute to technical discussions

Requirements of the Senior Structural Design Engineer:

  • Degree qualified in Structural or Civil Engineering (ideally working toward Chartered status)
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in UK based structural steel design
  • Previous experience with a UK based steelwork fabricator
  • Proven experience in steelwork frame and connection design
  • Proficient in Tekla Structural Designer, Masterseries, S-Frame, IDEA StatiCa
  • Knowledge of British and European design standards
  • Confident producing both manual and software-based calculations
  • Experience in temporary works design (desirable)
