We're currently recruiting for a Behaviour Mentor to join a secondary school in Hackney on a long-term basis starting in September. This role is temp-to-perm.
You’ll be joining a school that genuinely invests in its pupils, with a strong focus on consistency, respect and positive behaviour support. It's a great fit for someone calm under pressure who wants to make a real difference to pupils who need it most.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
- De-escalating challenging behaviour and helping pupils regulate in the moment
- Working with teaching staff to implement individual behaviour plans
- Building consistent, trusted relationships that help pupils stay engaged in school
Requirements or Skills:
- Recent experience supporting pupils with SEMH or behavioural needs, ideally in a school setting
- Calm, resilient and confident when managing challenging situations
- A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Comfortable following behaviour management plans and working closely with the wider pastoral team
