Milk Education is working with a large SEND specialist provision in Hillingdon to recruit Autism Support Workers who genuinely want to make a positive difference in the lives of children and young people with complex SEND needs. This role focuses on supporting learners with Autism and ADHD, alongside a range of additional learning needs, including pupils who are non-verbal or have significant communication needs.
This role is exceptionally well-suited for an aspiring Clinical Psychologist. You will gain invaluable, hands‑on experience in a clinical‑adjacent setting, developing a deep understanding of communication, behaviour as a form of expression, and the practical application of psychological principles. This is a unique opportunity to build foundational skills in observation, assessment, and intervention within a specialist school environment.
This role is suited to individuals who are patient, calm, and confident, particularly when supporting students who benefit from structured routines, clear communication strategies, and consistent emotional support. Pupils may present with sensory processing differences, emotional regulation needs, or behaviours that communicate unmet needs.
Both full-time and part‑time positions are available, offering flexibility to suit your availability.

Autism Support Worker - Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent 1:1 and small-group support for pupils aged 5-19 with complex SEND, including Autism and ADHD, in the Hillingdon area.
- Support non-verbal pupils using a total communication approach, including alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) strategies.
- Utilise and develop skills in tools such as Makaton, visual timetables, and communication boards to support understanding and engagement.
- Actively observe and interpret non-verbal cues, such as body language, facial expressions, and changes in behaviour, to understand and respond to pupils' needs and emotions.
