KS1 Teaching Assistant- Atherton
Milk Education is partnering with a primary school in Atherton (M46) to recruit a dedicated KS1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 pupil with Autism on a one-to-one basis. This KS1 Teaching Assistant role begins in September 2026 and is a long-term temporary position. The role is full-time and working Monday to Friday, and the working hours are 08:30am- 15:30pm.
The school is seeking a patient, nurturing individual who can provide consistent support, keep the child focused, and help meet their individual learning needs. Responsibilities include preparing resources, supporting daily tasks, and maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment. Experience with SEND and a calm, supportive approach are highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support for a Year 1 pupil with Autism
- Keep the child engaged and on task throughout the school day
- Prepare daily resources and support learning activities
- Foster a positive, nurturing learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff
Requirements
- Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly Autism (desirable)
- Patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to supporting the child's academic and emotional development
