Milk Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream school in Ashington from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for a caring and committed individual who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
The successful candidate will work within the school's dedicated SEN Hub, providing targeted support to small groups of pupils with a variety of special educational needs. Although the school is a mainstream setting, a large number of pupils require additional support, creating a rewarding environment where you can make a genuine difference to children's learning, confidence and development.
The Role
- Supporting small groups of pupils within the SEN Hub
- Providing tailored support for children with a range of additional needs
- Helping pupils engage with learning and develop their academic, social and emotional skills
- Working collaboratively with class teachers, SEN staff and wider school teams
- Supporting pupils with their individual needs and learning goals
- Creating a safe, inclusive and positive environment for all learners
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working with children with SEN is desirable
- A patient, nurturing and understanding approach
- Experience within a school or educational setting
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children's development and wellbeing
