Salary: £13.50 per hour

Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced rolling mill operator to join their growing team. This full-time role is based in Tipton, working Monday to Friday with an early finish on Fridays.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operating Rolling Mills: Controlling machines that shape steel into desired thickness, width, and shape.
2. Adjusting Mill Settings: Regulating rollers, speeds, and temperatures to meet production specifications.
3. Monitoring Steel Quality: Inspecting finished products for surface defects, thickness accuracy, and overall quality.
4. Temperature Control: Ensuring steel is heated to the correct temperature before rolling.
5. Equipment Maintenance: Conducting routine checks, lubrication, and minor repairs to prevent breakdowns.
6. Safety Compliance: Following safety procedures, wearing protective gear, and maintaining a hazard-free environment.

Required Skills

• Experience with heavy industrial machinery
• Understanding of rolling mill processes and metallurgy
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
• Strong attention to detail
• Physical endurance for handling heavy materials
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures
