We are currently recruiting for experienced Yard Operatives / FLT Drivers to join a busy manufacturing and distribution operation in Chorley. These are temporary-to-permanent opportunities for reliable and hardworking candidates looking to join a growing business.
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday 6:00am - 2:00pm, 2:00pm - 10:00pm
About the Role: Working within the yard and dispatch operation, you will be responsible for accurately picking, loading and moving products while ensuring all health and safety standards are maintained. This is a physically active role requiring excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to supporting warehouse and distribution operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Picking customer orders accurately from the yard and warehouse areas
- Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently
- Operating Counterbalance FLT equipment
- Moving stock and finished products throughout the site
- Conducting daily vehicle and equipment checks
- Ensuring products are loaded correctly and secured for transport
- Maintaining stock accuracy and completing relevant paperwork
- Keeping the yard clean, organised and safe
- Working closely with production, warehouse and transport teams
Skills & Experience Required:
- Previous experience in a yard, warehouse or distribution environment
- Valid Counterbalance FLT licence (in-date or recently expired considered)
- Experience with picking and loading operations
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude
- Reliable with excellent timekeeping
