AM2PM are hiring Warehouse Operatives on behalf of our client, a leading building products distribution business based in Telford. We are seeking experienced and reliable Warehouse Operatives to join a dynamic and inclusive team. This is a busy and physically engaging role in a stock-focused warehouse environment that supports diverse and exciting distribution operations.
You will be expected to:
- Adhere to all organisational policies, management systems, and standard operational procedures, including legal responsibilities in relation to Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality.
- Work positively to develop and foster good working relationships with colleagues and contracted personnel to maintain a culture of mutual respect and dignity.
- Represent the organisation in a positive way.
Shift Patterns: Rotating Fixed 4 on 4 off, 12-hour days.
Pay: £12.71 per hour, with overtime rates available.

Responsibilities:
- Order Fulfillment: Picking and preparing customer orders accurately and efficiently while ensuring high levels of accuracy in all tasks.
- Stock Management: Moving, storing, and organising inventory in appropriate locations, keeping stock checks up to date.
- Quality and Safety Compliance: Ensuring all duties are performed safely while maintaining high safety standards within the warehouse environment and following appropriate break times.
- Reporting process and product concerns through the relevant communication channels.
- Utility of Equipment: Safely operating Material Handling Equipment (MHE) following training and transferring knowledge to team members to maintain operational consistency.
- Stock Checks: Conducting regular stock audits to ensure accuracy and inventory integrity.
- Fault Rectification: Resolving issues, problem-solving, and escalating concerns to the appropriate personnel when needed.
- General Warehouse Duties: Ensuring the workplace is clean, tidy, and safe by following housekeeping procedures and identifying potential hazards promptly.
- Working at Heights: Comfortably and safely working with high-level order-picking equipment to retrieve stock stored up to 6-8 metres. Full training will be provided.
- Collaboration: Working closely with your team and other departments to meet operational goals and ensure quality outcomes.
- Undertake reasonable duties as and when required/as directed by a manager.
Qualifications:
We are looking for applicants who meet the following criteria:
- Previous Experience: Demonstrated experience working within a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Physical Capability: Ability to perform warehouse duties such as lifting, moving, and handling materials.
- Strong Work Ethic: A reliable attitude with a commitment to meeting goals and exceeding expectations.
- Safety Awareness: Comprehensive understanding of workplace and equipment safety standards.
- Comfort at Heights: A willingness to operate MHE and work confidently at various heights following appropriate training.
Desirable (but not essential):
- FLT (Forklift Truck) license.
- Prior experience with MHE such as Reach Trucks, High-Level Order Pickers, or VNA equipment.
- Knowledge of building products or experience working within a builder's merchant.
