Working Hours

Fixed shifts, Monday to Friday:

  • AM shift: 08:00-16:00
  • PM shift: 14:00-22:00

These are fixed shifts and do not rotate. Occasional weekend working may be required depending on kitting volumes and operational requirements. Additional working during sale periods will only be required where agreed with the Operations Manager.

Pay Rates

  • General Warehouse Operative: £12.91 per hour
  • PM shift premium: Additional £0.68 per hour for the 14:00-22:00 shift
  • Skilled Warehouse Operative: £13.80 per hour
  • MHE/VNA Operative: £14.49 per hour

Role Overview

We are looking for reliable, motivated and hardworking Warehouse Operatives to join our fast-paced warehouse operation. Depending on your experience, skills and operational requirements, you may work across several departments, including Pick and Pack, Inbound, Stock Control, Returns and Kitting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pick and Pack: Accurately pick and pack customer orders. Complete a three-day training period. Work towards achieving the required pick and pack targets from your fourth shift onwards. Maintain accuracy and productivity within a fast-paced working environment. Ensure products are packed securely and prepared correctly for dispatch.
  • Inbound: Unload containers and incoming deliveries safely. Move, sort and organise products within the warehouse. Carry out physical tasks, including lifting and moving boxes. Ensure incoming stock is handled carefully and placed in the correct location.
  • Stock Control: Use warehouse IT systems and the Warehouse Management System (WMS). Complete stock checks and investigate stock discrepancies. Move boxes and products to the correct warehouse locations. Maintain accurate stock records and follow stock control procedures.
  • Returns: Process returned products accurately and efficiently. Inspect items and record their condition correctly. Follow the required procedures for returned or damaged stock. Demonstrate strong attention to detail at all times.
  • General Duties: Support kitting and other warehouse activities when required. Follow all health and safety procedures. Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment. Attend shift briefings delivered by the Shift Manager or Team Leader. Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve daily operational targets. Carry out any other reasonable warehouse duties required by the operation.

Training and Onboarding

Successful candidates will also have opportunities to develop their warehouse skills, including potential upskilling to HLOP equipment where appropriate.

Performance and Attendance Expectations

Pick and Pack colleagues will receive three days of training and will be expected to work towards the required productivity targets from their fourth shift. Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential. During the main peak period of approximately two weeks, attendance will be monitored daily due to increased operational demand. Daily shift-confirmation messages will be sent before each scheduled shift.

Breaks

Break arrangements will be confirmed at the start of each shift by the Shift Manager or Team Leader and will consist of either:

  • One 30-minute break and one 15-minute break; or
  • One 45-minute break.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will:

  • Be reliable, punctual and committed to maintaining excellent attendance.
  • Be comfortable working in a busy, target-driven warehouse environment.
  • Have good physical fitness and be able to lift and move boxes safely.
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
  • Be able to follow instructions and work safely.
  • Work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Have basic IT skills.
  • Previous warehouse experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
  • Previous WMS, stock-control, MHE or VNA experience would be advantageous for skilled positions.
