Butcher Location: South Kirby, Pontefract Job Type: Full-time Salary: £13 per hour plus overtime Shift: Monday - Friday, 7am - 3pm About the Role AM2PM are recruiting for an experienced and reliable Butcher to join one of our clients in the WF9 area. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a range of meat preparation and butchery duties to a consistently high standard, while maintaining excellent food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards. Key Responsibilities of a Butcher: Carry out skilled knife work and meat preparation to the required specification. Trim, cut and prepare meat accurately and efficiently. Ensure products meet the company's quality and presentation standards. Work safely and efficiently within a busy production environment. Follow all food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures. Maintain a clean and organised working area. Use knives and other equipment safely and correctly. Minimise waste while maintaining product quality. Work effectively as part of a team to meet daily production requirements. Complete tasks within agreed production timescales. Report any quality, equipment or production issues to the relevant supervisor. Requirements of a Butcher: Has previous experience in a meat processing, butchery or similar environment. Has good knife skills and an understanding of meat preparation. Works accurately and pays close attention to detail. Can work at pace while maintaining quality and safety standards. Is reliable, punctual and committed to their work. Can work independently as well as part of a team. Has a good understanding of workplace hygiene and food safety. Is willing to follow company procedures and learn new skills where required. Experience Previous experience as a Butcher, Trimmer or Meat Production Operative is preferred.
