Working at: Great Ormond Street and surrounding areas (OCS). Great Ormond Street is one of the top 5 children’s hospitals worldwide, renowned for its advanced pediatric healthcare and international reputation.
At GOSH, you\’ll be part of a dynamic team handling complex cases, with opportunities to develop in spinal and SDR management. Our OCS covers 13 NHS Trusts in London, including prestigious institutions like UCLH and Chelsea and Westminster, and runs leading MDT clinics, such as diabetic, neuro, scoliosis, pediatric, and KAFO clinics.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Orthotist eager to grow their career within our large, multidisciplinary team at Great Ormond Street. The role involves working part of the week at GOSH and part at other London trusts. The position offers exposure to complex cases and collaboration with consultants, nurses, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists, focusing on spinal and SDR patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure high-quality patient care and efficient service operation
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams
- Lead initiatives aligned with service development plans
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments
- Develop and implement personalized orthotic treatment plans
- Stay updated with the latest orthotic technologies and practices
- Provide patient education and support
- Assess, measure, cast, fit, supply, review, and adjust orthoses
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation
The successful candidate will contribute to service improvements and benefit from regional and national training opportunities, supporting their clinical development in a state-of-the-art environment.
Qualifications:
- Certified Orthotist, HND Orthotics, or BSc Orthotics
- Fully HCPC Registered
- Member of BAPO (preferred)
