We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Administrator to join our Prosthetics and Orthotics team in Cambridge. This role will involve supporting the end-to-end service delivery requirements for our patients, including speedy and accurate response to referral and appointment management, order processing, support of clinicians within the service, reception and administration duties, ensuring accuracy of information and maintenance of department systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the reception area, ensuring it is clean, presentable, and secure (including visitor log and patient check-in).
- Acting as the positive first point of contact, greeting and welcoming all patients and visitors in a helpful and friendly manner.
- Handle patient and confidential information in line with Data Security policies.
- Book goods in/out, process orders, manage shipping, and handle slow-moving stock transfers.
- Take part in the annual stock take process.
- Monitor patient referral status in line with RTT pathways; close referrals and escalating issues to clinicians and/or management.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to multitask and work to tight deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including a professional telephone manner and effective people skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook; computer literate across general systems and willing to learn new in-house systems.
- Able to use own initiative while also being a collaborative and supportive team player.
Desirable
- Previous experience in an administration/warehouse, stores administration or reception role.
- Order processing and data entry using IT systems.
- Previous work experience in a healthcare environment.
