Role: Full‑Time Site Engineer (Project Developer Representative)
Duration: 16 months
Location: Barrow‑in‑Furness, UK
Minimum experience: 10–15+ years in construction projects (minimum 10 years; preferably 15+) in the role as Owner’s Engineer / Consultant.
Experience in Energy / Power Generation projects.
Exposure to hydrogen projects, hydrogen technology or other low‑carbon/gas fuel systems.
Strong mechanical and/or civil engineering background.
Site management and site supervision experience (day‑to‑day).
Project management experience, programme planning and schedule skills, and contract administration and commercial awareness.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the project developer’s full‑time on‑site representative monitoring contractor activities.
- Oversee execution of works against approved technical scope, drawings, specifications, and programme.
- Ensure contractor compliance with the contract conditions and employer’s requirements.
- Coordinate daily with the contractor’s site team and the office team to resolve technical and construction issues.
- Liaise closely with HSEQ leads to ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Review and monitor method statements, risk assessments, and permits to work.
- Identify, record, and report non‑conformities, risks, and deviations to the project office.
- Track progress, quality of workmanship, and interfaces between disciplines.
- Prepare regular site reports covering progress, quality, HSEQ, and key issues.
- Support the project office with technical input, inspections, and site‑based assurance.
