The Maintenance Planner is a key role within the maintenance team to support the safe operation of assets, plant productivity and reliability. As the Maintenance Planner, you will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and work closely with the Maintenance team, engineering team, scheduler, procurement and approved vendors. It will be essential to establish and maintain a healthy working relationship with all parties.
This role is key to delivering and maintaining all site safety standards throughout the site's assets, ensuring site and industry regulations are followed allowing to operate as a top tier COMAH Site. Meeting regulatory and customer quality requirements relating to ISO9001, ISO14001 and cGMP as well as the requirements of cross contamination prevention. Deliver maintenance plans, ultimately ensuring manufacturing performance.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Ensure that Health, Safety and Environmental standards are maintained throughout the planning and delivery of all work on assets.
- Encourage a positive and a safety-first mentality throughout the business.
- Investigation and inspection of work orders raised through the CMMS. Engage with the engineering team to determine the appropriate course of action.
- Create a detailed work pack complied with estimated labour hours, bill of material, job method sheet (JMS), P&ID’s, test method sheets, procedures and equipment location.
- Engage with the maintenance supervisors to develop task specific RAMS for all planned work on Lianhetech assets.
- Identify and provide any external labour requirements and engage with approved sub-contractors. Ensure all supporting documents are submitted in a timely manner and obtain accurate cost estimates, seeking opportunities to affect cost saving where possible.
- Identify required material, check stock inventory and external suppliers as required.
- Create a detailed plan to ensure correct information is obtained for WCP.
- Update CMMS, manage the status of all work orders. Actively manage backlog to reduce work orders. Contribute planning progress to produce an accurate weekly KPI in line with the team and business requirements.
- Take ownership of creating PRs through the CMMS and following through to completion.
- The ability to read and understand engineering drawings / P&IDs loop check sheets, wiring diagrams.
- Support the Maintenance manager in setting the budget for the next financial year.
- Work closely with the maintenance scheduler to create a detailed weekly schedule and optimise site resource.
- Assist and develop preventative maintenance plans. Adjusting and updating PMs in the CMMS as required.
- Assist with and identify spare and replacement equipment.
SHEQ Management
- Ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental standards are maintained throughout the planning delivery of work.
- Promote a positive safety culture throughout the maintenance team.
- Ensure work is carried out safely and as per company guidelines.
- Ensure work is carried out to industry standards and OEM recommendations to ultimately reduce equipment downtime and increase equipment performance.
- Report any accidents or near misses as required by our health and safety policy.
- Report improvements and “good practices” which the team have demonstrated.
Core Skills/Competencies
- Time served craftsman with around 5 years’ experience post apprenticeship, predominantly with an instrument or electrical trade.
- Organisational skills – ability to prioritise work, able to work alone and as a team, motivated to progress work packs right through to completion, able to manage their own time and ensure maximum productivity is achieved.
- Situational awareness to ensure that maintenance opportunities arising from outages or breakdowns are used to the advantage of the maintenance team.
- Team Building – Able to build a working relationship with all departments.
- Maintenance KPIs such as planned maintenance compliance, safety critical maintenance/defects close out, right first time, planning accuracy.
- Communication – Communicate and coordinate with production related departments. Able to manage, direct and receive instruction based on site priority.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).
- Ability to build a good working relationship with all departments within the business and external suppliers.
- Must have an understanding of responsible business practice and the importance of confidentiality.
