High Voltage Technician
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced High Voltage Technician to join our client based in Stockton-on-Tees.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out HV and LV electrical installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults and carry out corrective repairs.
- Complete planned and preventative maintenance activities.
- Work safely on electrical equipment and power distribution systems.
- Record and document test results and maintain accurate service records.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
- Work closely with project teams to support successful delivery of work.
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding technical findings and service outcomes.
- Follow all site safety procedures, permits to work and company/regulatory requirements.
- Use appropriate electrical tools and test equipment.
- Support continuous improvement in system reliability and performance.
About You
The ideal candidate will have
- Previous experience working with high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems.
- Knowledge of power generation and electrical power systems.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with electrical maintenance and repairs.
- Preventative maintenance experience.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Understanding of electrical safety standards and permit-to-work systems.
- A relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem solving.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Previous experience within industrial, utility or power generation environments would be advantageous.
