About The Role
We have an opportunity to join AMFresh as we embark on an exciting period of growth for our Skelmersdale site. Joining our existing team of Engineers, we are looking to recruit an experienced Engineer with an Electrical Bias.
- Shift: Rotating, 6-2, 2-10, 10-6 shifts – Monday to Friday – plus overtime
- Salary: Competitive

You will be an electrically biased multi-skilled engineer and will ideally have experience within the food industry.
We are looking for an enthusiastic self motivated team player with a can do attitude who will have the following responsibilities:
- Undertake a programme of Planned Preventative Maintenance and condition monitoring for key equipment & machinery across the manufacturing areas, to ensure that machinery & equipment is maintained correctly and operates safely and as efficiently as possible.
- Prioritise activities such as reactive maintenance, breaks etc. in order to provide a fast response to breakdowns within the manufacturing areas to ensure that equipment “up time” is kept to a maximum.
- Actively support and encourage a programme of TPM and assist with the training of colleagues in the relevant activities, in accordance with H&S and engineering legislative codes of practice policies and procedures.
- Inform line management of any damage suspected of being due to mistreated use of equipment or machinery.
- Any tools or equipment that are used for maintenance purposes must abide by Health & Safety regulations and report to the Engineering Manager if this is not the case.
- To support with additional maintenance tasks across the UK sites as and when requested.
About You
Qualifications
- NVQ level 3 in electrical maintenance
- HNC/HND electrical maintenance
- Electrical regulation BS7671 either 17th or 18th edition
- Time served or C&G or BTEC
Maintenance Engineer experience in a high volume, fast moving environment supplying retailers, ideally gained within the Fresh Produce or Horticultural sectors.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, whilst maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
Microsoft office experience - word, excel.
Proven experience in driving through continuous improvement activities.
Excellent Planning and organisational skills
A keen eye for detail.
Flexible approach to work.
Experience in maintaining standard industry machinery
