About The Role
You’ve learnt how to advise businesses. Now come and help shape one.
AMFRESH UK is looking for an exceptional strategy professional to work directly with our UK Managing Director and senior leadership team on some of the most important opportunities and challenges facing our business.
This is a broad, hands-on role spanning strategy, transformation, growth, M&A, customers, technology and organisational change. You’ll work on priorities that cut across our individual businesses and functions, bringing structure to complex challenges and taking ownership of delivery.
We’re not looking for someone simply to develop strategy or produce presentations. We want someone who can get underneath difficult problems, bring structure and insight, challenge our thinking and work with the business to turn decisions into results.
Alongside shaping and delivering strategic priorities, you’ll help bring our strategy to life for colleagues: communicating what we’re working towards, why it matters and how each team contributes. You’ll work with leaders to embed these priorities into team plans and everyday decisions.
What you’ll be doing
No two weeks are likely to look the same. You could be:
- Shaping a new growth or commercial strategy.
- Analysing a complex business performance issue and turning your findings into practical recommendations.
- Developing the case for an acquisition, investment or new opportunity.
- Supporting acquisition integration and business transformation.
- Working with our businesses on major customer or market opportunities.
- Helping accelerate our use of technology, data and AI.
- Leading strategic projects across business and functional boundaries, establishing clear scope, milestones, ownership and measures of progress.
- Helping the MD and leadership team translate strategic priorities into practical plans and measurable outcomes.
- Communicating strategy across the business, building understanding and helping leaders embed it into everyday activity.
- Working with stakeholders to resolve dependencies, address risks and follow through on agreed actions.
You won’t just recommend what should happen. You’ll be expected to help make it happen.
This is an individual contributor role, where your impact will come through your own delivery and your ability to build relationships and influence others.
About You
We’re particularly interested in people with around 3-5 years’ experience in a leading strategy or management consultancy who are considering a move into industry, or have recently made that transition.
You may have reached Senior Consultant or Manager level and be looking to get closer to the business, its customers and the decisions that drive performance.
You’ll bring:
- Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to solving problems.
- Commercial curiosity and the ability to understand new businesses and markets quickly.
- The confidence to work with senior leaders, challenge constructively and build productive relationships.
- The ability to turn complexity into clear choices, messages and practical actions.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, governance, risk management and action tracking.
- Excellent written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage colleagues at different levels of the business.
- A hands-on approach, combining big-picture thinking with the willingness to undertake detailed analysis, prepare materials and personally drive actions through to completion.
- A pragmatic, low-ego approach and the ability to maintain momentum through ambiguity and competing priorities.
You’ll be someone who takes ownership rather than waiting for direction.
Experience in food, FMCG, retail, manufacturing or supply chain would be useful, but isn’t essential. We’re more interested in the quality of your thinking, your ability to deliver and your potential.
Why AMFRESH?
This is an opportunity to move beyond advising businesses and experience what it takes to build and change one.
You’ll work directly with the UK Managing Director and have exposure across a diverse group of businesses, senior leaders, customers and strategic challenges. You’ll have considerable visibility, alongside real responsibility for taking work from initial thinking through to delivery.
We see this role as a platform for your longer-term development.
We see it as a development role for someone with significant potential who ultimately wants to become a business leader, not a career strategist.
If you’ve enjoyed consulting but increasingly want to be closer to the decisions, the customers and the results, we’d like to hear from you.
